The October Rebellion, to be known in Australia as #SpringRebellion, starts on Monday October 7th and ends Sunday October 13th. During the Spring Rebellion we will join rebels from all over the world to take action. Put these dates in your diary now. Take time off work/get the kids some babysitters or put those holidays on hold for a week!

We need more folks to take on roles organising actions and events. There will be many opportunities to participate: as conscientious protectors, as marshals, as police liaisons, as regenerative culture team members, logistical support and so much more!

If you wish to join an affinity group and take action during the October Rebellion then complete in this form.

We welcome every part of everybody at XR. If you’re keen to contribute in the October Rebellion then complete this form and our Community & Outreach team will be in touch.

The Hive

Acting on feedback from XR UK that having a shared space helped ramp up their actions we’ve rented a space centrally located in the Adelaide CBD for the next 3 months. Many of our upcoming events will be making use of the space which is currently dubbed ‘The Hive’.

We have the opportunity to extend our 3 months rent if we can raise the $3000 to do so. We’re asking rebels to chip into our fundraiser to help make this a reality.

Die In

Over 100 rebels participated in XR SA’s first die in on a sunny Monday afternoon at the South Australian Museum, with approximately half of those in attendance taking part in their first XR action. XR was joined by Doctors for the Environment Australia spokesperson Michelle Cresp, who delivered an articulate and poignant speech about the dire health consequences that face us as the climate emergency worsens. Our efficiently organised and marshaled action received coverage on Channel 7’s prime time news broadcast.

Solidarity with Indigenous Women of the Amazon Action

Nothing has brought the severity of the climate emergency quite into focus and public awareness as the fires that are blazing in Brazil. The wildfires are just the latest atrocity, though, inflicted upon the Indigenous peoples of Brazil. XRSA stood in solidarity with the protectors of the earth’s lungs by holding a solidarity action, featuring a speech, on the morning of August 13th

2040 Film Fundraiser
September 12 @ 6:30 pm
Wallis Cinemas Mt Barker, 17 Adelaide Road, Mount Barker

2040 is a hybrid feature documentary that looks to the future, but is vitally important NOW! Award-winning director Damon Gameau (That Sugar Film) embarks on journey to explore what the future could look like by the year 2040 if we simply embraced the best solutions already available to us to improve our planet and shifted them rapidly into the mainstream. Structured as a visual letter to his 4-year-old daughter, Damon blends traditional documentary with dramatised sequences and high-end visual effects to create a vision board of how these solutions could regenerate the world for future generations.

Regenerate
September 14 @ 2:00 pm – 6:30 pm
Warrininthi (Park 23) in West Parklands, Adelaide

Time to regenerate…

Time to be held in nature…

Time to greet the other beings we share breath with…

Time with others who feel the weight of this work but also the joy of being in solidarity with others who grief and laugh together…

Time to watch the sunset and the moon rise releasing what needs to be let go of to bring balance…

We invite you to step outside the world of separation into the softness of ‘interbeingness’ where the boundaries between self and other (human and non-human) begin to blur. Nurture your ecological self.
