Adelaide: Protesting, advocacy and the law

During this session Dr Sarah Moulds will outline some of the relevant laws that apply to individuals or groups engaged in advocacy or protest activity in South Australia.
It will include a broad overview of:
– The types of criminal offences that may apply
– Your rights and responsibilities when engaging with police
– Other legal implications, including employment related implications
– The consequences of a criminal conviction

Bio: Dr Sarah Moulds is a Lecturer in Law at the University of South Australia, with teaching and research interests in the area of public law, human rights, and anti-discrimination law. Sarah’s career has a strong law reform focus and includes seven years at the Law Council of Australia including as Director of Criminal Law and Human Rights, and more recently as a Senior Project Officer at the South Australian Law Reform Institute.
