The government is failing in its duty of care to keep us safe from impending climate and ecological collapse. Australia is now rated worst in the world for inaction on the climate emergency.
The whole world is watching Australia’s abysmal performance in the lead-up to the United Nations climate negotiations in November. August is the time when crucial decisions will be made. The Coalition is in the midst of a big fight over what policies to take to the climate talks … and appealing a court decision that says they have a duty of care to protect young people!!
We’ve had enough of the government’s murderously negligent policy. Extinction Rebellion is hosting two public actions on the 3rd and 4th of August, to coincide with the opening of the Winter sitting of Parliament.
On Tuesday the 3rd, we’ll be meeting at 8AM on the corner of Alinga St and Northbourne Ave (near the tram terminal) to show the city our demand for a safe future.
On Wednesday the 4th at 3:45pm, XR Youth will take the message directly to the Minister for the Environment at the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment building in a creative, colourful protest.
